JB, the man, the myth, the legend who started 20h33 in France is based in Bordeaux and rightly that is our flagship region for everything we do. From the award winning wine tours in the combi, through to the tight relationships he’s forged with the great and the good of the winemakers and producers of the region. I’ve always wanted to stick to that region as there’s so much cool stuff going on that people in the UK don’t really know yet.
The UK company will always bring in wine directly from Bordeaux. JB’s got access to wines that you can’t buy in the UK, and at prices that still make a lot of sense despite the current….ahem…difficulties the GBP is experiencing.
But I’m also a wine writer, producing columns for my own website and for on trade magazine, The Buyer, with 35,000 unique subscribers. The confidence is building week by week, and I reckon I can pick out the wheat from the chaff when on trade suppliers come to town to show their wares.
So I’m going to get you all involved with this, and showcase the superstars on the France’s on-trend on-trade wines alongside 20h33 regulars, starting this month with the wines of Red Squirrel Wines, one of the championed new kids on the block in the UK wine world.
